New Best of Bridge cookbook “Weekday Suppers”
Wed, Oct 3: Home economists from the popular Best of Bridge cookbooks join Global News Morning Calgary to share two quick and easy meals from the new “Weekday Suppers” edition.
Our Family Slow Cooker Book Tour!
Sue and Julie kicked off the tour making some pulled beef at BT Vancouver - they're SO much fun here! Always a blast.
From there, we got to do a call-in show on BC Almanac - we love getting to answer calls from readers and home cooks! We love hearing everyone's stories, and always learn a tip or two.
The next morning, we headed off in the rain to do CTV Morning Live in Burnaby. Gotta say, having amazing food stylists helping us look good across Canada made the job easy.
An amazing lunch with fellow food bloggers - so great to meet in real life! - before heading back to Calgary.
We always love dropping in on Jill Belland and the crew at BT Calgary. Here she is with Elizabeth, ready to braise some brisket.
Elizabeth and Julie had a full (and early!) media day in Calgary, starting at CTV Morning Live and winding up at the CTV Noon News before heading to Edmonton... where we stopped in at the CTV station! (We were on the noon show - apparently Alan Alda was there earlier in the day — we just missed you, Hawkeye!).
If we're going to meet a blogger for an interview (in this case Cynthia from Cynful Kitchen and her adorable baby), we may as well make it a lunch meeting at Duchess Bake Shop!
Loved talking with Portia Clarke and Rod Kurtz on Radio Active.
Next, Sue and Elizabeth jetted off to Regina! First stop was a visit with Global News Morning's Candace Daniel!
Regina is home to a big and beautiful CBC building. Here's Sue, ready to answer questions from listeners all across Saskatchewan on the Blue Sky call-in show.
After Regina we took a very small plane up to Saskatoon, where we spent some time with the gang from CTV Morning Live. Jeremy Dodge was a little nervous about cracking an egg on live TV, but he cracked it like a champ!
Nothing beats meeting with actual readers and long-time Bridge fans! Elizabeth was solo in Winnipeg (Sue was stranded in Vernon due to some aircraft issues) but had a blast talking with readers and signing books at McNally Robinson.
Julie and Elizabeth were excited to hang in the fancy kitchen set at CTV's Your Morning. Our Coffee Pots de Creme were a hit with the hosts.
Pssst... don't tell anyone, but we had the tremendous luxury of working with food stylists to make our TV spots look flawless. Sandra and Victoria did some amazing work for us in Toronto.
Half the fun of being in Toronto is getting to check out some of the country's hottest restaurants. We couldn't resist an afternoon stop at Bar Raval with some of our favourite food people, Jan, Aimee, Mardi, Jen and Isabel.
We had so much fun with the gang at BT Toronto. That set is like a non-stop party.
Seeing Rita DeMontis is always a pleasure! Thank you so much for having us on your Sirius XM Show, Dishing With DeMontis!
And our very last media engagement was with the legendary food writer Marion Kane, who stopped by to interview us for her podcast, Sittin' in the Kitchen.
It was such a whirlwind tour, and lots of fun sharing news of the latest tome with old and new friends across Canada. And now we're back home, slow cooking dinner for our families as the first snowflakes start to fall!
