Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) butter
- 5 oz (150 g) chopped semisweet or bittersweet chocolate
- 2/3 cup (150 mL) packed light brown sugar
- 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) grated orange zest
- 2 large eggs
- 1 ¼ cups (300 mL) all-purpose flour
- Pinch salt
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine butter, chocolate and brown sugar and melt over low heat until smooth and combined. Whisk in vanilla and orange zest. Let cool slightly.
- Whisk in eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Add flour and salt; stir well until combined. 3 Preheat oven to 350ºF (180ºC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Using a mini ice-cream scoop, or heaping tablespoon (15 mL), scoop out mixture onto prepared pan. Bake for about 8 minutes or until top is just set. Let cool on pan on rack.
- Makes about 16 cookies
